  • She shows how objects and people change overtime. For example her collection of portraits from her hometown and just people in general. Faces in a way show time and I think through her work she showed that.
  • What are her processes?
  • She was very meticulous in her work making sure every aspect of what she wanted to show was contained in the picture She brought in workers from the shops of her town and photographed them. Also, she tried to find similarities and connections between her different pieces
  • What is her inspiration?
  • Change over time - connections
  • What is her concept? Pick 2 images from her website to go along with your answer.  Catherine Opie, Untitled #10 (Surfers)     Catherine Opie, Untitled #1 (Icehouses)
  • these two images show the temporary communities formed, and how things change overtime. So the ocean is in constant motion , sometimes attracting the local surfers. While the frozen lakes with huts will eventually melt to a hut-less lake. Change.
